mydin

Did you know, what are the hypermarkets or supermarkets that were found by Malaysian? Most of us did not know about this and some of us also do not want to know anything about this. May be it is unimportant in some of case, but to me, it is very important to be a part of our knowledge. One of hypermarkets that was found by Malysian is Mydin. Mydin with the trademark that ‘Why pay more, buy at wholesale prices’ now have two hypermarkets in Malaysia. One of it at Subang Jaya and another one are at Kuala Terengganu.

Before we go further about Mydin, let we see why this issue very important to be a part of our knowledge, especially for Muslims. I’m not promote Mydin but I just want to share my opinion. All of Mydin that I was go before this whether at Terengganu, Johor or Kuala Lumpur, all of it NOT selling AL COHOL and NON-HALAL products. I believe that all Mydin branches not provides and sell this products. For this reason, I am very proud to shopping at Mydin and talks about it even though some of us just see Mydin by one of their eyes.

Al cohol and non-halal products very sensitive for Muslims but most of hypermarkets and supermarkets sell this products without thinking about this sensitivity. Why it happen? It is because most of Muslims themselves do not mind or may be not alert about this. For example, hypermarkets and supermarkets that sell this products are Jusco, Giant and Carrefour. If at Terengganu this product is sell at Astaka and The Store. Yes, some of Muslims will say this is not an issue because we are not buying that al cohol and non-halal products. But without we are realize, we allowed that hypermarkets and supermarkets bait us as Muslims. This is also show how not respected them to us as Muslims. Why must we choose them, who not respect us as Muslims although we have another choice?

Sometime I also think why this thing happens even though we are Muslims at Islam country. The most important is this country is belongs to us, Malaysian and especially who are Bumiputera. Why we must allow foreign hypermarkets do whatever they like to us? May be all of this because of politic or may be because we as Muslims want to respect Non-muslims (even though we are sacrifice)? It is innocent to respect non-Muslims but we can do better from this. For example sell non-halal products at hypermarkets or supermarkets or shop that was no products for Muslims here. So that Muslims (whose really Muslims) will not going there or shopping there. As Malaysian that has variety of races, all of us must give and take. Not only one side sacrifice for another side.

From Malaysian perspective, Mydin is Malaysian hypermarket. Nowadays, Malaysian can trust and accepted Mydin because of it succeed to attract Malaysian people from all walks of life. Why must we support foreign wholesale hypermarkets even though we also have wholesale hypermarkets that were also succeed as them? Did you know what are the hypermarkets that was comes from oversea? Examples of foreign hypermarkets are Jusco from Japan, Carrefour from French, Tesco from British and Giant from United State. and most important is Tesco is a short form for Tessa Cohen, Jewish Millionaire’s wife. Its founder is Sir Jack Cohen who is support Zionist. So it means every Ringgit that we bought at Tesco like every missile which we give to Israel to kill Muslims at Palestine. So please, please, please do not shopping at Tesco and be a part from them.

Back to our main topic, nowadays Malaysian should be proud to see Mydin, Malaysian hypermarket which employs 6500 staffs and has 30 branches nationwide with an annual turn over of RM1billion. How Mydin begin? The founder of Mydin Supermarket is Mr. Mydin Mohamed. Before start this business, he is a general merchant hawker in Penang. In 1956, he removes to Kelantan and introduced his first shop in Jalan Tok Hakim, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This shop sells toys and general merchandise from Thailand. This business was converted from sole-proprietor to a private limited company under the name of Melati Makmur Sdn Bhd on 23 July 1991, due to rapid growth in size and turnovers. This is cause by to take over the business of Syarikat Mydin Mohamed which was a sole proprietorship, founded by Mr. Mydin Mohamed and Syarikat Mydin Mohamed Brothers, a partnership formed between Mr. Mydin, Mrs. Rowshan Bhai a/p Kassim Bhai, Mr. Murad Ali bin Mydin Mohamed, Dato’ Ameer Ali bin Mydin Mohamed, Mr. Ahimmat bin Mydin Mohamed and Mr. Salim bin Mydin Mohamed.
